Travel

Saugerties is accessible via train, bus, and airports in New York City and Albany. Once you're in Saugerties, we've arranged for buses that will take you to our venue from our hotels. However, renting a car is recommended to get around and enjoy the scenic Hudson Valley. Although there is car service in the area, including Lyft and Uber, it can be limited.

From Out-Of-State

By Air

Albany International Airport is the closest and most convenient airport to Saugerties, about a one hour drive, and has on-site car rentals. Stewart International Airport is another regional option, also roughly an hour's drive from Saugerties.

You can also fly into any of the major NYC airports (Newark Liberty/EWR, JFK, or La Guardia) and take a bus, train or rent a car and drive to Saugerties, about a 2 hour and 45 minute trip all together.

By Sea

Just kidding. But if you are coming from the U.K., we've heard crossing on the Queen Mary is lovely. Insert strained Brexit joke here.

From NYC, NJ, and PA

By Train

Take Amtrak from New York Penn Station to Rhinecliff Station. At Rhinecliff, take a car about 30 minutes to Saugerties (there are typically cars waiting at the station, or you can call Lyft or Uber for $30 to $50). The entire trip takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Alternatively, take the Metro North Railroad to Poughkeepsie, where you can rent a car and drive to Saugerties (Enterprise will do station pick-ups in Poughkeepsie).

By Bus

Trailways runs buses from New York's Port Authority to Saugerties, which is walkable from the Comfort Inn. You can also take the bus to Kingston, NY, and rent a car there. The trip takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes.

By Car

Depending on traffic, Saugerties is about a 2 hours and 45 minute drive from New York City. Car rentals tend to be expensive in the city due to taxes and parking, and getting around New York City via car is not a particularly fun experience. If you're planning to visit the city before or after the wedding, we recommend taking a train out of the city and renting from there. There are rentals accessible via train in Jersey City (Hertz) off the PATH train, Poughkeepsie and Tarrytown off the Metro North Railroad from Grand Central Station, and at Newark Liberty/EWR Airport off NJ Transit from Penn Station. You can also rent cars in Kingston, NY, a roughly two hour bus trip from New York City.

From Boston & New England

Boston is about a 3-hour drive from Saugerties, with lots of fun places to stop along the way in the Berkshires and Hudson Valley.

By Bus

Trailways runs buses from Boston South Station to Saugerties with a transfer in Albany. The trip takes about 5 hours and 45 minutes.
